Nice horror atmosphere and puzzles, also I really like how you use full-screen pieces!

Thank you :) Much appreciated.

Pros:

  • art is really good!
  • animations are nice and smooth
  • the music and sounds are very fitting
  • not too hard puzzle-wise (there were no puzzles that would stop the gameplay for too long)

Cons:

  • story (it wasn't bad, don't get me wrong. Maybe it's more to do with the length of the game, but I feel the game would be much better if the story had the time and place to grow. I did not feel for the character, we were thrown right into action, but given the length of the game... it is what it is I guess)

Overall:

This is a short horror experience, much better than a lot of those here on the website in a  sense that it is more polished, more mature. The hole in the wall reminded me of "Silent Hill 4", the skelly-archivist reminded me of "Planescape Torment". I have a feeling that maybe... (maybe?) you played "If On A Winter Night Four Travellers", I find it a bit similiar. Not to take away from the originality of your game of course.

I follow your work because your art is very good and also I enjoy horror stories. Hope to play more from you soon :)

Thank you for the kind words! Yes the story is a short piece of a larger story I want to tell over several games. I have played If on a Winter's Night, Four Travellers and it's awesome (and the dev is a lovely person), I hadn't intended this to draw from that but happy for the comparison :)

Great job on the game; I loved the art style, the design of the little creature and the Witness is beautiful. I got really lucky with the Marionette on my first playthrough, I didn't even realise until I went for the second ending that there was a specific order to add the bottles.

Teeth of Glass was a really nice, short experience; I had a lot of fun with my playthrough

Thank you! Glad you enjoyed it. :)

Phenomenal premise with a flawed execution.

The lore behind this game is freaky. I was amazed by the visuals and fully immersed in the gameplay. The sound design is fantastic, as well as the gameplay and overall look of the game. Sadly, some of the bugs broke the immersion, especially the ending part. I did see how the game goes beyond the main "key trouble" and I am very looking forward to seeing an update.

Best of luck with the future developments. Cheers!

Thank you for playing! I have fixed the issue with the key and reuploaded a new version of the game (along with the other issue found by Ravencrow). It's just me developing the game, I will keep tweaking it :) - Jake

Amazing job Jake! I will be playing more of this for sure. I am also a game dev and I truly understand the complexities and constant worries of making something new, so no worries at all, just a heads up. Rarely do I play games and showcase them, which have bugs like this, but yours was an exception, because it is a phenomenal story and I want others to play it as well when it gets recommended.
Best of luck, once again!

Thanks for the tip. Ran into some issues figuring out the second ending, but hope you enjoy my video :)

Thank you! Yes the photo is supposed to be a one off... I will fix now!

Hey started to record a playthough of this, but there appears to be a bug. When I click the photograph, I'm stuck in it. When I click the gem, it turns the photo around.. but I can't get out. There's no exit button. Might want to figure that out, or tell me if I'm down something wrong. Thanks!

Hi, try working the latches on the back of the photo, one by one. If that doesn't work, let me know! :)
